Refund Policy (WSQ courses)


Notification and Arrangement

Breakthrough Academy (BA) will notify the Learner within seven (7) working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

  1. It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;

  2. It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date;

  3. It does not complete the Course by the Course Completion Date;

  4. It terminates the Course before the Course Completion Date;

Breakthrough Academy shall, within seven (7) working days of notifying the Learner in writing of above circumstances (i) to (v), provide the Learner with information and details of the alternative confirmed course arrangement to allow the Learner to make timely and appropriate decision on the alternative arrangement.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy

If the Learner withdraws from the Course for any reason other than the above clause, BA will, within seven (7) working days of receiving the Learner’s written notice of withdrawal, refund to the Learner an amount based on the refund policy.

Learners who paid via claims of SkillsFuture Credits may cancel their SkillsFuture Credits claims via MySkillsFuture Portal before course start date.

Registered Learners who do not show up for course with no prior notice will be considered as “Withdrawal without notice” and will not be eligible for any refund. 

Transfer/Rescheduling Policy

Rescheduling request can be made via your Course Coordinator. Request must be made to the Company at least 7 working days prior to the course commencement date.The maximum number of times a reschedule request will be entertained is one (1). Request to reschedule thereafter is subjected to the follow conditions:

• Doctor-approved medical leave

• COVID related conditions

• Mandated by law

• Compassionate reasons

• Valid work supporting documents

Rescheduled course dates are subjected to availability of seats and course confirmation text or email will be sent out once the rescheduled date has been confirmed. Course fees paid will be re-allocated accordingly.Learners who have paid using their SFC Credits will have to cancel & resubmit their claims throught the SFC Portal with the ‘Transfer Form’ provided by the Course Coordinator upon processing of your transfer request.

Attendance Policy

We strongly encourage full attendance for all our classes to ensure the optimal learning experience. However, if there are unforeseen circumstances, there is a minimum attendance in order to be eligible for SSG Funding & the Statement of Attainment (SOA). 

Eligibility to pass: 

✅ Minimum attendance – 75% (3 out of 4 sessions) 

✅ Assessment completed 

If you are not able to make it for any of the session, a one (1) – time rescheduling is allowed and you will have to re-take the FULL course again. 

There is NO replacement lesson or module for the session you missed.

The following conditions must be fulfilled for refund of course fee, if any is to be considered:

• Any request for withdrawal must be submitted in writing to our office.

• No refund will be given for modules that have already completed and/or have commenced.

• Learners with medical conditions or face genuine financial difficulties must support their claims with official documentary evidence to for consideration.

• In the event that a company-sponsored Learner withdraws, the company is liable to pay any outstanding fees incurred.


• All requests pertaining to withdrawal matters are to be approved by the Breakthrough Academy.

• Any decision relating to refund of course fee arising from withdrawal shall be made at the sole discretion of Breakthrough Academy and that shall be final.

Notes:

Conditions where a course may be cancelled:

○ The intake does not meet a minimum enrolment of 10 learners.

○ The lecturer has withdrawn from teaching the course and a substitute lecturer cannot be found, due to unforeseen circumstances (that include, but are not limited to):

○ sudden hospitalization

○ overseas business commitments

○ other emergencies
